A meditation candle can be a simple way to tell your mind and body that it is time to slow down. The 4 1/4-inch Lailokens Awen Meditation Candle is made for exactly this purpose, and in this spotlight we look at what it is, how practitioners traditionally use candles for stillness, and what to consider before adding one to your space.

What Is the Lailokens Awen Meditation Candle?

This is a 4 1/4-inch candle from our Other Candles collection. It is a physical item, not a digital download. According to its description, it is intended to be lit in two moments: before meditation, to help quiet the busy, conscious mind, and during meditation, to support a deeper, relaxed alpha state.

It is also made on the day and in the hour of the Moon, a timing choice rooted in magickal tradition. Because candles are made in batches, you may notice slight variations in colour from one batch to the next. That is part of the charm of a handmade-style item, so do not be surprised if yours looks a little different from a photo.

A Note on the Name

In Welsh tradition, Awen is a word often linked with inspiration, especially poetic and creative inspiration. Many modern Druids and Pagans use it as a symbol of insight and flow. We have no further details on how the name was chosen for this candle, but the association fits well with a tool meant to quiet the mind and open space for inner awareness.

Why Make a Candle on the Moon’s Day and Hour?

In many Western magickal traditions, each day of the week and each hour of the day is linked to a classical planet. Monday is the Moon’s day, and the Moon’s hour recurs through the day on a set rhythm. Practitioners often time their work to these correspondences to bring a theme into the intention.
